Arab conquest (indopakhistorypk.blogspot.com)
This era, from 700 to 1500 AD, marks the beginning of Muslim rule in subcontinent as well as the rise of Sufism.

Starting in the early 8th century the subcontinent came under Muslim rule, first under the Umayyad Caliphate, followed by the Ghaznavid and Ghaurid Dynasties.

The Delhi Sultanate refers to several Muslim dynasties that ruled India between 1206 and 1526, a period of cultural renaissance for the subcontinent.

The subcontinent is home to several famous Sufi poets and thinkers.
